Dog fouling

It is an offence if a dog owner doesn’t clean up after their dog immediately in public places and dispose of it responsibly. You can be issued a fixed penalty notice if you're caught failing to clean up after your dog's waste.

Dog waste mess left by a dog can create an unpleasant eyesore in the local area and can be dangerous, leading to illness and in some cases blindness in children.

Forgetting bags for your dog's waste isn't an excuse. To make it even easier for you, dog waste bags are available at the entrance to some of our parks and smaller green spaces, and they are available to buy at many shops.
