Commercial and trade waste legislation changes

Simpler Recycling is a key legislative change which commences 31 March 2025.

The new Simpler Recycling legislation aims to create a standardised approach to waste collection, to make recycling easier and more effective for all.

From 31 March 2025, you will be required to separate mixed recyclables and food waste into dedicated separate containers if you have 10 or more employees.

The legislation will also be changing for all small and micro businesses in the future (31 March 2027) with the number of employees under 10.
