Mills Waters is spread over 2 sites extending over 70 hectare incorporating Sutton Lawn and Kings Mill Reservoir.

Within the Kings Mill site, Mill Adventure Base and Mill Waters Café, and a future development incorporating a new building for a sailing club and 80 seat restaurant with panoramic views over Kings Mill Reservoir.

What you'll find at Mill Waters

The 2 sites at Mill Waters has these amenities:

  • A well maintained 2 kilometre path around Kings Mill Reservoir, which is a magnet for walkers and cyclists with link to the Timberland Trail over a newly constructed railway bridge
  • Haven for bird watchers, with a variety of wild fowl
  • Visitors centre
  • Mill Waters Café
  • Volunteering - arranged by the onsite Ranger
  • Mill Adventure Base  - a purpose built Urban Adventure Centre for young people
  • Kings Mill Leisure Development

Car parking

There are 2 main car parks with access to Mill Water Café facilities.

Kings Mill Reservoir: Parking and Café is accessed off Sherwood Way South, which leads down the access drive to the car park.

There is a local Pay and Display Car Park:

  • Up to 1 hour - £0.00
  • Up to 2 hours - £1.00
  • Up to 4 hours - £2.00
  • Up to 6 hours - £3.00
  • Up to 8 hours - £4.00
  • Up to 10 hours - £5.00
  • Up to 12 hours - £6.00

2 Electric charging bays:

The Lawn: Free parking and Rumbles Café is accessed off Station Road, via Lawn Avenue which leads to the main facilities.

Park history

The site has a long history of water powered mills along the River Maun, that can be traced back as far as the Doomsday Book in 1086.
