Selective licensing

Please note:

We are currently experiencing a high number of payments which is affecting people being able to pay for their licence ; if you are diverted from making a payment at this time please try again later.

If this problem persists, please contact the Selective Licensing team at Selectivelicensing@ashfield.gov.uk.

On 25 July 2022 new Selective Licensing Schemes will go live in parts of Stanton Hill and Sutton Central (New Cross).

Under the scheme every privately rented home in the designated areas will require a licence. It will be an offence to let a property without it being licenced.

Apply for a license:

Selective Licensing Application

A Scheme guide is now available to advise property owners, landlords and tenants about how the scheme will work, their obligations and responsibilities and what they to do next.

We are encouraging property owners with homes in the designated area to apply for a licence as soon as possible. It is important the application is completed in full and all information submitted by 25 July 2022.

A copy of the pubic notice publicising the schemes is available to view.

Details of private rented homes that do not require a licence and how to apply for a licence exemption can be found in the Scheme Guide.
